The inspiration for the Rivers of Life series came through Jill’s regular practice of meditation. “There is a spiritual river of life, flowing with Divine energy through each of us that provides us with the people, the creativity, the intelligence and the energy we need to live dynamic lives”. The flow of the river in these pieces is enhanced by the alternative three dimensional canvases provided by Drey Johnson. Satellite imagery from the rivers of the world provided the necessary insight into the power of a river. These images have 24 karat gold leaf, metallic and iridescent glazes, to capture the lyrical movement of water. These pieces are a metaphor for the changing, ever fluid growth potential in all of us.
